This Rope Gag is made from 5/16" lariat rope, offering a responsive yet forgiving feel that promotes clear, effective communication between horse and rider. The 3-piece square mullen-style mouthpiece enhances feel and balance, while the French link center eliminates palate pressure and maintains even contact across the bars of the mouth. The sweet iron mouthpiece encourages natural salivation, helping the horse stay soft, relaxed, and receptive. A full-ring side design prevents the bit from being pulled through the mouth, ensuring stability and consistency, while the lariat rope communicates subtle poll pressure once engaged to encourage flexion and collection. A latigo ear keeps the rope securely positioned, and rubber sliding grommets allow easy adjustment for a comfortable, precise fit on any horse.  The mechanics of the rope gag bit elevate the horse’s nose which causes the withers to follow. As the rider applies more pressure, it causes a break in the poll. The draw cheek and slide is designed to specifically create lift in the front end enabling the horse’s back end to drive underneath.
