The Josey Senior Gold Cup Barrel Race
Join us at the Josey Ranch for the 2nd annual Josey Senior Gold Cup! The Race will be a 5D barrel race open to any barrel racer 50 years old and over. Entries are open now!

Before any horse may be saddled on Josey Ranch Property, there must be a signed liability release on file.
Liability releases may be picked up in Josey Western Store.
** NO HOT WIRE TEMPORARY PENS ALLOWED AT THE RACE**
Registration Information
- To be eligible for this race you must be 50 years old on or before October 10, 2024.
- All contestants must check in before their first run. Check in will be held in the trophy room October 10th at 9:00am - 6:00 pm, and October 11th at 8am till the 100th horse runs.
- All horses must have a current coggins. Out of state horses must have a 30 day health certificate.
- The deadline to get your name on the event t-shirt is October 6th at 12:00 pm. Shirts are only guaranteed through pre order on event registration for $30 (tax included).
- Thursday evening October 10th 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm we be the Senior Gold Cup Meet N' Greet with music, snacks, and soft drinks. This will be held on "Mattie's Porch" at the Josey Ranch, all guests are invited and there is no charge to attend.
- There is a dress code for this race. Long sleeved shirt and hat or safety helmet are mandatory.
- Stalls are available on a first come first serve basis and are $100 for the whole weekend.
- Hook ups are available on a first come first serve basis and are $125 for the whole weekend.
5D Barrel Race
- Entry fee is $150 per horse.
- We are offering age side pots (50-59) (60-69) (70-79) and are $50. Side pots are paid out for each long go.
- All entry fee's must be paid by Friday, October 4th to be in the early draw. First Draw will be posted Monday October 7th at 5:00 pm
- Entries will be taken until the first 100 horses run on Friday October 11th.
- The barrel race will be run in a 5D format with two long go's and one clean slate short go. Each contestant may run in both long go's for a chance to qualify for the short go. The top 15 of each D of both long go's will qualify for the clean slate short go.
- Exhibitions are Wednesday October 9th, 12pm to 6pm and Thursday October 10th, 9am to 6pm. They will be sold on site for $5 each day.
- First go will start at 8am Friday Oct 11
- Second go will start 8 am Saturday Oct 12 and will be run in reverse order.
- Finals (short go) will begin after Cowboy Church on Sunday Oct 13 at 11am.
Triple Crown Information
- The Triple Crown Senior World Championship is a culmination of points from 3 Senior Barrel Races. Started in 2024 by Lance Graves, Renea Bollin and Martha Josey, the winner of this prestigious award will receive a Circle Y/Martha Josey Gold Buckle Saddle, a Trophy, and a buckle. There are also buckles for each division winner.
- There is no buy in fee- all you have to do is attend all 3 races and be 50 years of age by the first race on June 21st. This is based on a point system for each horse and rider team.
- Riders must be 50 as of June 21, 2024 (all ages will be figured from this date) and compete in all 3 events.
- Triple Crown Senior World Championship points will be awarded in each division (1D-5D) from LG Masters 5D Barrel Race (June 21st - 23rd) in McAlester, OK and the Josey Gold Cup 5D Senior Barrel Race (Oct 10-13), Josey Ranch Karnack, Tx, Seniors Only World Championship, (Oct 18-20), Hutchinson, KS.
